5 Neat Google Maps Tricks That You Have To Try
Google Maps has been around for years, but there’s still so much about it that so many people don’t know. For example, there are some really neat tricks that the company implemented to keep up with ever changing times like ride-sharing and new transit laws. Here are just 5 neat tricks that you definitely need to try right now.
Travel Back In Time
Since the Street View feature of Google Maps was unveiled back in 2007, there are essentially almost a decade’s worth of images that you can look at. If you want to see these pictures, you only need to launch Google Maps, find the Street View images that you want to look at and then click on the tiny watch logo located underneath the address.
Once you do, the watch will start turning back time as far back as you want. It’s not a time machine, but it’s as close as anyone can get right now.
Set Your Own Traffic Schedule
With Google Maps, it’s easy to plan ahead when it comes to things like transportation, special events, and now, traffic schedules. All you need to do is click on the Maps Menu, click on Traffic, and then choose between Live Traffic and Typical Traffic.
The latter choice gives you a chance to plan specific days for specific activities when you are thinking of doing something days or weeks ahead. This is especially helpful for when you are thinking about travelling and you don’t want delays due to traffic jams.
Measure Everything
One of the best things about Google Maps is the sheer amount of information that you have at your fingertips. Never before has humanity had the ability to measure how long a trip between states or between countries would take or what the distance is. Now, you can.
